Support Services

We're here to help

prospED is an industry leader in the training of disability, mental health and community service disciplines. We are committed to supporting the development and growth of individuals, businesses and communities; by running nationally accredited courses and workplace-based training across the mental health and disability industry as well as supporting disadvantaged students to realise their true potential.
All training sessions are led by certified trainers and assessors who will provide guidance and aid with course units and assessment.

All training sessions are led by certified trainers and assessors who will provide guidance and aid with course units and assessment.

There is comprehensive student support for students through the identification of support needs and allowance of reasonable adjustments. Individualised training plans are created for students.

If student support  is outside the capacity of the RTO staff, we will refer to services as needed.

Students have access to all work on the Learning Management System as well as trainers and assessors and office staff for all support services.

Student support can be provided on the following, but not limited to:

  • Telephone or email support
  • LLN support
  • IT support
  • Study skills support
  • Any reasonable adjustment provisions
  • Personal student support.

Prior to the start of your course, you will be given an induction. Its objective is to welcome students to prospED and give you the relevant information relating to assessment, support services, as well as expectations during your learning journey. Students can also ask any queries and verify their understanding of their rights, and obligations and will learn how to access and use the Learning Management System used for assessment.

All trainers and assessors monitor their students’ progress and provide help and support when needed, relevant to their needs and within the trainer and assessors abilities. All students can access support services at any time during their learning journey. If personal or welfare issues are affecting a student’s academic progress, prospED may refer them to external organisations for assistance.

If students are struggling with any part of their course, they should reach out to their trainer and assessor, or the admin team. Our team is ready to provide academic support and can arrange study sessions or one on one assistance if needed.

We understand that some students may need extra help to finish their training. Personal issues can sometimes get in the way of successfully completing a course. If students are facing problems that are affecting their studies, they should inform their trainer and assessor, or any member of the admin team.

If any students encounter issues with their training course, they should talk to their trainer and assessor or another prospED staff member. Our staff will make every effort to address the problem informally and find a satisfactory solution for the student. If the informal resolution is not achieved, students can submit a formal complaint using the complaints and appeals form in the Student Handbook. The formal complaint will be handled according to the complaints and appeals policy outlined in the Student Handbook.

If students are dissatisfied with an assessment decision or believe they have been treated unfairly, they have the option to appeal the decision. To do so, they need to complete the appropriate complaints and appeals form provided in the Student Handbook. The appeal will be assessed based on established policies and procedures. It is important for any formal complaint to include supporting evidence and the reasons for the appeal.
